                                                            Until We Meet Again

Dearest Papi,

Those special memories of you will always bring us a smile. You had a unique talent of always making everyone laugh, even when your jokes were not so funny. The words No or Can’t were not in your vocabulary. You were always there to lend a helping hand. Your love and passion allowed you to see the world with your own eyes. You really loved to travel, and now you’re free to see the universe. We recall how much you enjoyed playing with your toys, the Mini and your Mustangs. You were an awesome father, and led us by example. You showed us to be kind, generous and respectful to all. Zabryna and Evelina adore you and will treasure those moments they spent with you always. We know, Papi, that you are in the presence of God and all his Angels, along with Abuela Cocha, your parents, the children you never met and those who left us before you. You will be missed. The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain. But you’re forever in our hearts until we meet again.

Your loving daughters and granddaughters,                                                                               Betty Ann, Betty Jane, Zabryna and Evelina

Juan Ramon Diaz is survived by his two daughters Betty Ann and Betty Jane, his two granddaughters Zabryna and Evelina, his siblings Vanesa and Ramon (Chico), and his cousins Aimee, Betty, Blanca, Carmen, Claudio, Elisa, Enilda, Eva, Isabel, Julie, Salvador, Violeta, Yadira and all their families.

While the Diaz Family mourns the loss of their patriarch, the late Juan Ramon Diaz, who passed away of natural causes, members of his fraternity, Phi Delta Gamma, have stated that Juan was highly honored in their fraternity, becoming a member while attending college in Puerto Rico in 1958. Since then Juan has held many important positions, one of which was founder of the Miami chapter, Beta Alpha in 1992, and served as President, or Chancellor in our terminology, several times.

Last year, Juan was bestowed with the highest honor, Benemeritus Brother, implying that his presence was honored, respected and recognized before anyone else. His advice and acceptance were always necessary in all of our decisions. Juan was very special to all of us and will be dearly missed.

Juan Ramon Diaz was a graduate of La Universidad de Puerto Rico and Member of Phi Delta Gamma.
